Today was a strange day. I had every intention of following C25K W4D3.
However. Logan woke me up at 5:00 AM. I knew if I tried to go back to sleep, that I would hit snooze until 8:00 and be REALLY late for work. (ahem) So I decided just to stay up and get going. Took a shower and was out the door before 6:30, at work by 7:00. I think that's a new personal record. Very busy day - (in a good way!) and didn't leave til almost 4:30. yikes. We went to karate for 1.5 hours and got home at 7:30.
I knew it would be too much to try to get Logan to go jogging after being up so long and after 90 minutes of karate. So I took the dog for a walk by myself. At some point I decided just to start jogging to see how far I could go - how far I could push myself. I started in my preferred 'starting point' because it's an intersection and easy to remember. I kept going. and going. And I felt great! I surpassed my previous 'end point'. After I got home and logged it - it was over a MILE!! (1.02 to be exact!) My 'active minutes' according to my pedometer was 14, but I'm not sure if I had accumulated any during the day. So about a 14 minute mile! Not too shabby! Considering just four weeks ago 60 and 90 second intervals were hard!
My knees feel a little... worked. So I'm not sure if I'll count this as my official W4D3 run or not. I had looked ahead and got really nervous. W5D3 has a 20 minute run. I was panicking and thinking I wouldn't be able to do it. Now I think it's do-able. I think if I found more of a flat route it would be easier. There are a couple of hilly areas that I notice that's where I struggle.
I am freaking tired now! But homework to do! Ugh. I can't wait to go to bed tonight!
